This update introduces an optional Narrative Mode for players who want to explore the mystery, read every available document, and piece together the story without the four-file recovery limit interrupting their investigation.
What’s new
Added an optional Narrative Mode under Settings / Accessibility.
File recovery is unlimited while Narrative Mode is enabled.
The bandwidth display changes to BW ∞.
Days no longer advance automatically after four recovered objects.
Added a clear Next day / finish investigation… command to the Chronos menu.
Existing investigations and saved knowledge remain compatible.
The original four-object recovery mode remains the default.
Narrative Mode does not change the story, password puzzles, discoveries, or endings. It provides a more relaxed way to investigate the archive and read the available material at your own pace.
The original quota-based mode is still available for players who prefer the intended resource-management challenge.
This feature was added in response to thoughtful community feedback from players who enjoyed the mystery but wanted a less restrictive way to experience the narrative. Thank you for taking the time to explain what would make the game more accessible and enjoyable.

Hey! Just wanted to say as a fellow Spooktober simulated desktop dev that I really enjoyed the mystery and puzzles behind this game.
Not sure if you're open to feedback but I did find this game quite challenging puzzle-wise and would suggest an "easy mode" that has unlimited quota per day (maybe a button to manually progress to the next day), so that people who enjoy the narrative/want to read everything in order to put all the info together can do that without interruption.

Wow you work fast!!! Very excited to try out the narrative mode in the next few days :) Hopefully I can get a fuller picture of the story
